If you received a Nikon D-SLR as a present this Christmas or you’ve recently treated yourself to one, hopefully you’ve had some time to play around with your new kit. You’ve obviously taken a few snaps, maybe a movie, but do you really know everything you can do with your Nikon? If you haven’t mastered everything yet, we’ve got some great news for you. This month several of our posts will be specifically written to help you get the most out of your camera.
So, firstly, we wanted to point you towards the ‘Digitutor’ – a series of videos designed to guide you through your D-SLR’s features. We’ve included the links in English below but the videos are available in several different languages. Just go to the Nikon website for your country, visit the product page and click on the ‘Digitutor’ link.
Playing around with things like shutter speed and aperture can seem slightly intimidating to a first time D-SLR user, so our Digitutor web pages for the D3100, D5000 and D7000 should come to your rescue! We’ve designed them to be really easy to use and will guide you through it all – from details on how to use all the movie functions, to demonstrating how to edit images.
If you’re just starting out with your D3100, did you know that you can get your camera to automatically select the best shooting mode for your photos? Check all this out and much more on the D3100 Digitutor here.
If you’re at a game, or playing football in the garden with the kids, you can apply a cool function on your D5000 to capture that dynamic action shot. Don’t take it from us; have a look on the D5000 Digitutor, here.
Finally, do you want to be able to emphasize motion in your pics? Our Digitutor for the D7000 will walk you through exactly how to select the right mode and alter your shutterspeed, to get that really fantastic image. Have a look here.
Is there anything else you’d like to be able to do with your camera? We’ll be featuring a Q&A session soon so let us know if you have any burning questions. We’re always interested in your feedback so let us know how you get on.
